Probation for Teen who Attacked Paramedic

A 19-year-old Onarga man pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and was sentenced to probation in Iroquois Circuit Court. The case stems from an attack of a paramedic in Onarga in July.  Joseph Burke agreed to the plea deal after earlier entering a not guilty plea to 3-counts of aggravated battery.

Iroquois County deputies responded to a call July 11, deputies learned that Burke had attacked a paramedic while the medical responders were assisting someone else.

Former Hoopeston Woman gets 11 Year Prison Term in Ford County Drug Case  --

Fifty-eight year-old Angela Rutledge of Roberts was handed an 11-year prison term for her part in a drug distribution ring.  She was among four people arrested last February for felony meth charges. Police called the case a "major drug distribution ring in the Gibson City area."  Prosecutors said those involved were part of a controlled buy at a Gibson City park. Other defendants in the case have court appearances scheduled early in 2026.   

The investigation involved law enforcement from the Ford and Livingston County Sheriff Departments, Gibson City, Paxton and Fairbury Police.
