The Watseka Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that The Arc of Iroquois County will serve as this year’s “An American Holiday” Grand Marshal in this year’s 4th of July parade sponsored by the City of Watseka.
The Arc of Iroquois County was founded in 1953. The Arc provides educational support, advocacy and transition services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them pursue lifelong learning and independence. They employ over 140 staff members. The Arc focuses on building a more inclusive community through person-centered services, advocacy, and meaningful opportunities.
This year’s parade will take place on Friday, July 4, 2024, at 10am. The revised parade route will proceed out of Legion Park onto 4th Street, then east on Fairman Ave, turning north on Belmont Ave., west on Lincoln Ave., then north on Fifth Street, west onto Cherry Street, south on 4th Street ending in Legion Park. The announcer and the judges will be located at the First Financial Bank parking lot on south Fourth Street. Judging will take place during the parade.
