The annual celebration to remember Dr. Martin Lutrher King Jr. is planned for this weekend in Kankakee County.  The memory of Dr. King will be celebrated with a Gospel Concert Sunday, January 18.  The event is scheduled for 3 pm at the Asbury United Methodist Church.

The annual Dr. King Prayer Breakfast is Monday, January 19 at Chalfant Hall at Olivet Nazarene University.  The doors open at 7:30 am.  An Ecumenical Service is at 10 am.

A holiday celebration to remember Dr. King is planned in Danville on Monday 1/19.  The traditional parade and caravan thru Danville steps off at Main & Logan Streets at 10 am, leading to the service at St. James United Methodist Church.  The Service begins at 11:30 am.
