Jamie Bakken voted Vice-Chair for Iroquois County Board

The Iroquois County Board has a new Vice-Chairman. Jamie Bakken steps into the position, voted in to succeed the late-Scott Watts who passed away December 13.
Mrs. Bakken received the full support of the Board (Tuesday), after presiding over the January Board meeting as Chairman Pro-Tem in the absence of Chairman Paul Ducat. She says she’s ready for what’s ahead …

"I'm 100% up for the challenge. I have a lot to learn, but very open to learning," Bakken said. "I've been learning from Scott. I have big shoes to fill and I appreciate the full support of the Board; it's a huge honor."

Jamie is in her first term on the Board and has served as Chairman of the Management committee. She’s also a member of the Tri-County Rural Transportation committee, working on finding a solution to the ceased-CRIS Rural Mass Transit District operation.

Ironically, Jamie also follows in the footsteps of her grandmother – Harriet Mowrey – who also served the County Board, as a 2008 Vice-Chairman and on the Management committee.
