- Practices for most IHSA fall sports officially begin on Monday. Football opened up practices this past Wednesday. First contests for boys and girls golf can begin on Thursday.

- The NTT INDYCAR Series returns to action today at the Portland International Raceway for the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland. Coverage begins on 96.9 The Buckle at 2:30pm.
- The NASCAR Cup Series also returns to racing today after a week off with the Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol at Iowa Speedway at 2:30pm.
- The Cubs will look to win the series with the Royals today at 1:10pm. They will then travel to Washington to face the Nationals Tuesday-Thursday before returning home for the fourth and final round with the Cardinals this year on Friday-Sunday. The two rivals are locked up at 5-5 through the first 3 series.
- The White Sox have one more crucial division game at home with the Guardians today at 1:10pm as they look to win the series and extend their AL Central lead. They stay at home for a 3 game set with the Reds on Tuesday-Thursday then travel to Detroit for a weekend series Friday-Sunday.
- The Cardinals host the Rockies today in the series finale rubber match at 1:15pm then they will host the Phillies for 3 games Monday-Wednesday before heading to Wrigley for the weekend.

- WNBA: The Indiana Fever will host New York on Tuesday at 6:30pm and Dallas on Friday at 6:30pm before traveling to Atlanta next Sunday at 4pm. The Chicago Sky travel to Seattle on Monday at 9pm, visit Golden State at 9pm on Wednesday, and then back to Seattle next Sunday at 4pm.
- The Colts have their first preseason game on Thursday against the Patriots in New England at 6:30pm while the Bears will host the Browns on Saturday at Noon.
