The Watseka Family Festival is a local attraction this weekend.  The event showcases Legion park where all the activities are staged.  Included are live muiscal stage appearances Friday and Saturday.  Details at watsekafamilyfest.com

Milford celebrates 'Our Town Milford' today (Friday).  Local events showcase the downtown area, several kids events and contests from 4-7 pm.  The Lions Club and the Milford Pool & Park Foundation are sponsoring fun events.

At Dunning Park in Iroquois Saturday, The annual Fried Green Tomatoes Festival offers food and fun and music.  Proceeds benefit local groups.

The Will County Fair at Peotone continues thru the weekend.

At Delphi, IN  the Indiana Bacon Festival welcomes visitors. Food vendors offer everything bacon.  Indiana beers and wines are featured. The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce reports live music on the Big Bacon Stage Saturday.  The evening ends with headliner Lou Gramm, the original voice of 'Foreigner.'  

And downstate, the DuQuoin State Fair opens.  The Twilight Parade is today (8/23) after the ribbon-cutting.  The fair runs thru Labor Day.
