David Baker of Watseka faces charges of Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Aggravted Battery to a Peace Officer after an incident Wednesday night. Officers were dispatched to the 400-block of W. Walnut Street on a report of an intoxicated male subject threatening several people. When officers attemped to make contact, Baker allegedly became aggressive and struck one officer. After a brief struggle, Baker was taken into custody. He was jailed without further incident.
In Hoopeston -- City Police report the arrest of a Freeport (IL) woman after fleeing from a traffic stop. 25-year-old Saarah Ford was awaiting an arraignment hearing in Danville. Ford was arrested for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Resisting and Obstructing, Driving While License Suspended, Disobeying Traffic Control Devices and Operating a Vehicle without Insurance. Officers conducted a traffic stop on W. Main Street just before 2 am Wednesday. Police said Ford failed to comply with officer instructions and fled the scene. After a pursuit through Hoopeston, Ford was apprehended north of Rossville on State Route 1.
