Tennessee man gets lengthy prison term for sexual assault

A Tennessee truck driver was convicted of sexual assault and will spend 90 years in prison. 56-year-old James Hill was found guilty of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a firearm. The case dates back two years from rural Iroquois County.

On April 21, 2023, the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office responded to a rural area for reports of a woman who was handcuffed and naked. The woman told deputies that she was abducted and threatened by James Hill.  The victim claimed she met the Medon, Tennesse man Hill at a gambling establishment in Champaign and that she voluntarily got into his truck. Later, Hill allegedly displayed a gun, put it to her head and threatened the woman. Hill then stopped the truck somewhere in Iroquois County and pushed her out of the vehicle while she was handcuffed and naked. Hill was ultimately found guilty of a Class X felony -- four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a firearm.
