Tornado sirens screamed early Monday morning throughout Iroquois and Kankakee counties.  Heavy rain, lightning, and severe winds took down power lines and trees.  Utility crews were busy restoring power in the two counties.  No one was injured.  The NWS reported winds at 60 -70 mph.  Flash flooding was reported.  And more such weather is forecast yet this week in the Midwest and Great Lakes.  Livingston and Grundy County had reports of more than three plus inches of rain.

Clean-up was also underway in LaSalle and Lee counties were EF-1 tornadoes damaged farm sites Sunday night and early Monday.  An EF-1 tornado hit north of Streator and the Village of Ransom had winds peak at 100 mph.  The wind also hit 90 mph east of Amboy in Lee County.  Storms also blew 32 empty railcars off the tracks in LaSalle County.
