St. Anne voters pass school consolidation referendum

The St. Anne community supported a school consolidation issue with the Illinois Primary Election vote Tuesday. Some 60% of voters supported the referendum question to transition from two districts to a single district, beginning July 1, 2024.

Unofficial results of the Consolidation question were approved by both the St. Anne Community School District 256 and High School District 302.  The regional Office of Education will lead the process to transition from two districts to one.  Votes will have to be canvassed for final confirmation.

Superintendent Charles Stegall extends a Thank You to everyone who came out to vote.  St. Anne had one of the highest voter turnouts in all of Kankakee County.
