NWS studies storm damage

Crews from the National Weather Service are investigating reported tornado touchdowns from severe thunderstorms Tuesday night in northern Illinois. Damage was reported in several communities, including Barrington, Mundelein and Geneva. The storm ripped trees from the ground and caused damage to residences. An apartment building in Mundelein was damaged, causing 20 apartments to be uninhabitable. Damage was also reported at Waubonsee Community College at Sugar Grove and in Henry County where farm buildings were destroyed.  The American Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced.
