New Reps earn seats on Iroquois County Board

Three new faces will represent the Iroquois County Board in District 4. Results of Tuesday’s Primary Election finds Doug Geiger, Scott Watts and Mitchell Bence joining incumbent John Zumwalt on the Board. Incumbent Roger Bard was defeated.

Geiger’s 649 votes (25%) led the way. Watts gained 588 votes (22.7%)… Bence had 435 votes (16.8%... and Zumwalt with 587 votes (22.6%). Bard had 331 votes.

Four incumbents were re-elected in District 1. Chad McGinnis was top vote-getter with 770 tallies (23.5%). Michael McTaggart had 754 votes (23.08%)….Lyle Behrends 734 (22.4%) and Paul Ducat 653 votes (19.9%). Challenger Keagon Urban finished with 356 votes (10.9%).

In District 2 … four seats were available with former Board member Jed Whitlow the top vote-getter with 29.4% of the votes, 783 votes. Barb Offill, Steve Huse and John Shure also won seats.

Three incumbents won seats in District 3 …. Donna Crow, Charles Alt and Paul Bowers.

County Clerk Breein Suver, Treasurer Kurt Albers and Sheriff Clint Perzee won seats….all un-contested.

Iroquois County had a 26% voter turnout.
