Lincoln’s Challenge graduates making strides …

It’s been labeled a ‘second chance’ for Illinois youth – the Lincoln’s Challenge Academy. Over the years, many young people who crossed the line and tangled with Court matters were offered another chance at education and their future.

The most recent graduation ceremony at the Lincoln’s Challenge Academy saw 90 cadets earn their stripes and take a new step toward a better path. The program is coordinated by the Illinois National Guard and serves youth ages 15 to 18, guiding them through a 22-week, quasi-military academy focused on structure, discipline and life-skill development. Leaders said the goal is to help young people build consistency, confidence and a clearer path forward.

Cadets come from across Illinois, many looking for a second chance, additional support or a more structured educational environment.
