Law Enforcement focus on safe travel this weekend

The Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police and local law enforcement agencies throughout the state are reminding the public about the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” safety campaign. IDOT says there were 11 fatal crashes in Illinois over Labor Day weekend last year. Anyone who sees an impaired driver on the road is urged to contact law enforcement.

State Police say the Labor Day weekend will find troopers with a special focus on tracking down drunk drivers, distracted driving, and motorists not buckled up.
