Kankakee County Primary Election Returns

Chris Tholen is the District 10 County Board winner in Kankakee County returns from Tuesday.  Tholen had 62% of the voter approval.  Chad Scanlon was the winner is District 12.  Scanlon had 63% of the vote.  The District 20 winner was Jeff Ashcraft with 58% approval. 

Voters denied a tax levy increase for the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District; money that would have went for equipment upgrades and training.  Results show 61% of the voters said No. 

The voters in Limestone Township also said No to a hike in taxes for the library District.... 70% said No to that issue. 

Pembroke Township voters were also asked to raise the tax limits for utilizing resources to meet local emergy needs.

Thomas Lynch was the Kankakee County winner on the GOP ticket for the Congressional seat in District 2.  Lynch had 42% of the vote in a bid to take on rep. Robin Kelly in November.  Shane Cultra and Ashley Ramos were also in the race.  (Cultra was the winner in Iroquois County with 56% of the vote).

William Nagle was a clear leader on the GOP ticket for the 40th District Illinois Senate seat.  He would meet Senator Patrick Joyce in November.
