Iroquois County Primary Election Results

Jody Munsterman makes news in Iroquois County…winning a County Board seat in District 2. In Tuesday’s Primary Election, Munsterman defeated veteran Board member and Chairman John Shure. She was one of two winners in the District. Jed Whitlow was the top vote-getter in District 2 with 733 votes (41%). Munsterman had 36% of the votes (645) and Shure with 397 (22%).

In District 4…. Scott Watts was the lone candidate who filed, winning another term. And Write-In candidate Roger Bard is back on the Board, defeating Write-In candidates John Zumwalt and Kevin Bohlmann.

Jamie Lee Bakken is a Board newcomer. She won a seat in District 3 along with incumbent Raymond Williams.
Incumbents Lyle Behrends and Chad McGinnis were un-apposed for their seats in District 1.

Bill Cheatum and Lisa Hines were un-apposed for re-election for Coroner and Circuit Clerk, respectively.

Michael Quinlan will succeed James Devine in the State’s Attorney office. Devine did not seek another term. Quinlan defeated Rebecca Souligne 81 – 19 percent.

Turnout was 24% in Iroquois County.
