- Administrator Robin Allen Celebrated on 1-Year Anniversary -
Iroquois County Board Chairman Paul Ducat led county board members (Wednesday) in celebrating the one-year anniversary of Health Department Administrator Robin Allen. Several members of the health department staff filed into the Board Room for Wednesday's meeting, the employees getting a round of applause for what several board members called "outstanding work" in directing health operations for the good of the entire county.
Under Allen's leadership, the employees rallied amidst a past of troubled work duties and continued legal battles. Past and present health employees overcame the rough waters, righted the ship, and have put new health programs in place -- with more to come. Robin Allen says "there's always room for improvement" and the effort is always there to explore new opportunities.
"It's been a fantastic year, I love working here, and my staff does an amazing job," Allen said. "It was so nice to be recognized."
Allen said a new mobile dental clinic has been added, immunizations clinics are held on a regular basis, CPR classes, so many community outreach efforts to let people know what public health is all about.
Allen exphasized the staff is really the corp of public health. The staff kept everything going and she just hopes to guide them to do what we need to get done for the best of the county.
