55-year-old Jeffrey Conley received a 20 year prison term when sentenced for a stabbing death of a woman in 2024. Conley was convicted on class one felony charge for the death of a Gardner woman at her apartment. A Grundy County judge handed down the prison term after Conley was convicteed after a four-day trial in December 2025.
Prosecutors said Conley stabbed Aleshea Raszkowski16 times during a domestic incident inside the kitchen and bathroom area of at an apartment complex in August 2024.
Prosecutors said Conley was a caregiver for the victim, knew each other for over 10 years and was staying at Raszkowski’s apartment building at the time of the alleged incident.
Conley was convicted by a jury on the charge of Second-Degree Murder, a class one felony. The jury deliberated for around four hours before rendering their verdict.
Prosecutors were seeking the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison due to the heinous nature of the crime and Conley’s prior criminal history. Conley has a previous conviction for Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Battery and domestic battery. The victim’s daughter read an emotional victim impact statement explaining how she suffers panic attacks and PTSD.
Conley will have to serve half of the prison term and was given credit for serving nearly 600 days in the Grundy County Jail. The class one felony charge was punishable from 4 to 20 years in prison or probation was a possibility. Conley will have to serve over 8 years of the sentence.
