Funeral arrangements for Governor George Ryan are being held in his hometown of Kankakee this week.

Arrangements are being handled by the Schreffler Funeral Home on West Court Street. Visitation is Tuesday 4 -7 pm. A Memorial Service is at 12 Noon Thursday at the Asbury United Methodist Church on S. Harrison Avenue.

Ryan died Friday in his Kankakee Riverview home. He was 91.

The Kankakee Daily-Journal reports the former one-term governor and two-term Illinois Secretary of State, Ryan spent 35 years involved in Kankakee County and Illinois politics.
