Farmland Values still climbing

A recent survey shows Illinois farmland values continue to escalate.  According to a survey by the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers, Illinois farmland values are up 18 percent over the last year. The increases were even bigger in neighboring states. Farmland values were up over 30 percent in Indiana and 29 percent in Iowa. Land broker Luke Worrell (WORE-el) says there are several contributing factors to the rising prices. Worrell says windmill contracts are also adding to the land values. Forty percent of managers surveyed had at least one farm with an arrangement with a wind company.
