Several area farmers markets are popping up.  Chambers of Commerce usually coordinate the events, including the Watseka and Kankakee markets.  Many are offering new products, including organically-grown items.

The Illinois Department of Agriculture is hosting the 18th season of the Illinois Product Farmers Market at The Shed on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Attendees can expect a family-friendly environment packed with diverse vendors, a rotating selection of food trucks, cooking demonstrations, and live entertainment. The Illinois Product Farmers Market will be held every Thursday through Sept. 25 excluding June 19 and the two Thursdays during the Illinois State Fair.
