Donovan Fire damages church parsonage

A fire, believed to have been electrical in nature, damaged the parsonage of the Donovan Methodist Church Thursday night. No one was injured. Damage estimates not yet available.
Pastor Kevin Nourie and his wife, Mary, smelled smoke and notified 9-1-1. They escaped the home without issue. Fire Chief Rod Lareau said arcing at the electric meter service led to the thought it was electrical. The kitchen and an upstairs attic wall sustained most of the damage, according to Chief Lareau. Smoke and water damage obvious throughout the home.

The church parsonage at 506 3rd Street is separate, not connected to the church.

Donovan Fire received mutual aid from Concord, Sheldon, Beaverville and Martinton Fire.
