Several area police agencies are participating in the 23rd annual Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois today (Friday 5/15).
Dunkin coffee sites are the traditional locations where officers rise to the occasion. Officers enjoy a morning coffee (Joe) on a Dunkin rooftop –in exchange for citizen donations for the cause. It’s been a statewide partnership between Dunkin and the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The annual fundraiser supports programs and services for Special Olympics athletes across Illinois.  Officers in Kankakee County, Champaign, Danville and Bloomington are all involved in the fundraiser.

Organizers report the campaign has raised more than $11.1 million statewide over the years.
