Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup has released the name of a man who has died from gunshot wounds he received in the early morning hours of Thursday. Champaign Police responded to the 2500 block of Leeper Court in Champaign around 1:00AM on Thursday for a report of shots heard in the area. Upon arrival, police discovered the victim, Alan T. Harden, age 31, of Decatur dead at the scene. Harden was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds at 1:58AM. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday at the Champaign County Regional Morgue Facility and an inquest may be held at a later date. The circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation by the Champaign Police Department, and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office.
