Cannabis plants lead to Claytonville man’s arrest

Bond was set at $2,000 for an Iroquois County man accused of the unlawful production of cannabis plants. Forty-seven year-old Samuel Vires III appeared before Judge Gordon Lustfeldt Wednesday in Circuit Court.

KAMEG agents found the cannabis plants growing at Vires' residence. Illinois State Police assisted KAMEG. Authorities observed 44 plants growing in a garden. During a search, officers also recovered a small amount of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
