The Mayor of Braidwood will spend four days in the Will County Jail for DUI. Robert Jones turned himself in (Monday) to authorities to serve his jail time. Jones was involved in a three vehicle accident in 2019 on Rt. 53 north of Coal City. Illinois State Police reported then, the Mayor’s SUV rear ended a vehicle which was then pushed into the rear of a third vehicle. The 59 year old Jones pleaded guilty in March of 2020. Because of COVID concerns, he was allowed to put off serving his jail time until now.
