Several Emergency Public Safety Agencies are working a plane crash southwest of Oxford, Indiana that's closed down intersections in the ruraL area. The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the Monday night crash that has one man dead. Benton County Sheriff John Cox said the death is under investigation by the Coroner's Office.
County Road 200 East between 700 and 800 South was closed.
Dispatchers report the call came in around 6:42 Monday evening concerning a possible plane crash in the area. Multiple first responders were on the scene from Benton County, Oxford, Otterbein, Fowler and Boswell. Indiana State Police are currently investigating the crash. A "No Fly" order was issued over the crash site by the Purdue University Airport.
The Benton County Sheriff's Department reported first responders discovered a yellow fixed-wing crop duster upside down in a bean field on fire. A male pilot was found dead.
