Sunny, cooler conditions in store this week. The weekend rain was enough to have burn bans lifted by officials in several area counties. All burning was prohibited by fire officials as a precaution against field fires due to the extreme dry conditions.
IROQUOIS COUNTY's FIRE BAN WAS LIFFTED Sunday 10/19. The Eastern Illinois Fire Chief’s Association, along with County Board Chairman Paul Ducat and the entire Iroquois County Board notifed all Iroquois County residents that the burn ban that was in place County wide was officially lifted Sunday, October 19th. The significant rainfall over the entire County has greatly reduced the risk of rapidly spreading fires. With the high winds predicted, if the choice to burn is made, you should never leave the fire unattended and have an extinguishment source readily available. A thank you to all who paid attention and respected the ban.
Benton County, IN burn ban was also lifted Sunday.
