Andrew Purcell to be sworn in as New Associate Judge

A swearing-in ceremony event today (Thursday) at the Kankakee County Courthouse finds a Manteno attorney joining the bench to serve the 21st Circuit.  Andrew Purcell will accept the honor.  The Circuit Judges selected Purcell to fill a vacancy.  Purcell has served the last eight years as an associate with the law firm, Spiros Law. 

"While I will miss working with my colleages at Spiros Law, I am honored to have been selected by the Judges of the 21st Circuit to join them." Purcell said in a news release. "I look forward to serving my community in this role for many years to come."

The founding partner of Spiros Law, Jim Spiros, said "Andy has demonstrated a steadfast committment to fighting for his clients and has an unwillingness to back down until justice is served.  His contributions to our firm have been instrumental to our success."

Illinois Supreme  Court Justice Mary K. O'Brien (also from Kankakee County) will admnmister the oath of office to Purcell.
