FBI search and arrest event in Danville

Danville Police Chief Chris Yates confirms the FBI was active with searches and potentially making arrests in Danville. The Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and Danville police conducted searches and made arrests Wednesday morning related to what was explained as “violent crime and drug activity.”

The FBI’s Springfield field office made an appearance with cooperation with local authorities. Court-authorized activity was carried out in the city and other areas not mentioned. A press released stated it was “part of a coordinated effort to combat violent crime and drug activity.” The FBI offered no further comment, adding more details would be released later in the week.

Danville police Chief (Christopher) Yates confirmed his department was assisting the FBI.  “The Danville Police Department will continue to partner with and assist other agencies to reduce violent crime and drug activity that has a negative impact to the quality of life of the citizens in our community,” he said.
