Public invited to Courthouse Lawn in Kankakee at 11 am

Law Enforcement officials will grace the Courthouse lawn in Kankakee this (Thursday) morning for the annual Police Memorial – paying tribute to the officers who have given their lives in the line-of-duty. The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department hosts today’s solemn event. The public is welcome to show respect. Keynote speaker Ryan Pressley of the FBI will address the audience; a reading of names of those officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

Police and Fire first responders will be honored in several similar events in area communities.
