- The Pro Football Hall of Fame will enshrine five new members in the 2026 class today at noon ET on ESPN. Those five: Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly and Adam Vinatieri. Those five players combined for 38 Pro Bowl selections during their NFL careers.
- USA Women’s Basketball's long-awaited youth movement is here, as Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese and Aliyah Boston will make their first USA appearances at a major international competition next month at the FIBA World Cup in Germany. The 12-player women's national team is also headlined by A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier, Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Kahleah Copper and Rhyne Howard. The team will seek the program's 12th World Cup gold medal and fifth straight.

- Mauricio Pochettino and U.S. Soccer have agreed on a new contract to continue as the Men’s National Team head coach through 2030.
- Andretti Global announced Marcus Ericsson will return in the No. 28 entry for the 2027 season.
- INDYCAR will now run 250 miles in its Freedom 250 grand prix at Washington on August 23. It was 125 laps on the 1.7-mile course but now will be 147 laps. Will certainly test the drivers.
- Phoenix Raceway announced the return of the INDYCAR-NASCAR weekend for March 12-14, 2027. Like this year, the 2027 race weekend will feature an IndyCar race on Saturday and a NASCAR Cup race on Sunday.
