After finishing as the 190-pound state tournament runner-up in her sophomore season last year, junior Payton Temple of Central built off that momentum this year and captured the State Championship in the 170-pound category on Saturday defeating Sara Martinez Lopera of Kelly in a 5-4 decision. Temple becomes the first-ever Girls or Boys Wrestling State Champion in the school's history.
