NWS: Tornadoes confirmed in Iroquois, Ford, McLean Counties

The National Weather Service confirmed several tornadoes in central-Illinois following the severe weather Friday night. Survey teams were busy Saturday. And more damage assessments are scheduled.

McLean County sustained damage. So did Gibson City in Ford County and Buckley in Iroquois County. The Kentland , Indiana was without power much of Saturday. Fire officials there were advising people to stay away from downed power lines. Several area towns were waiting for power to be restored. Trees were uprooted in Watseka, where local crews and volunteers were busy clearing debris from yards.

Winnebago County, in northern Illinois, was among the areas hard hit by a tornado, according to the NWS. The weather service reported tornado activity ranging from EF1 to EF2, so far.  No personal injuries have been reported.
