Rep. Jason Bunting welcomes FFA and 4-H members to the State Capital
Governor. J.B. Pritzker and lawmakers welcomed more than 50 farm groups to the Capitol on Tuesday. State officials blamed federal policies for rising costs hitting Illinois producers. At the event, state Representative Charles Meier called for higher estate tax exemptions to help family farms. Pritzker said he’d sign a bill if lawmakers pass one, but it’s not a priority for him.
The Legislative Ag Day attracted reps from narly 50 diverse ag organizations to meet with lawmakers. Representative Jason Bunting extended a warm welcome to the young FFA and 4-H members. He said community engagement and leadership skills is what it's all about.
