Candidates were lining-up today (Monday, 11/25) to file petitions in advance of the March 18th Illinois Primary Election.

Candidates who were standing in line when the office opened will be placed in a lottery – if necessary – to determine which candidate's name appears first on the ballot.

Candidates only have Monday through Wednesday to file petitions this week because of the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday and Friday. The County Clerk's office will be closed on both Thursday and Friday. Monday, December 2nd is the last day to file candidacy petitions.
