Free Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Training for First Responders & Families

The Courage to Care Program is offering free, evidence-based mental health and suicide prevention training for first responders and their families in Iroquois and Kankakee Counties. Courses include:

  • Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

  • QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention

  • CALM: Counseling on Access to Lethal Means

All trainings are certified and meet Illinois in-service training requirements for law enforcement. Family members of first responders are also encouraged to attend and will receive certification free of charge.

Classes are held throughout the summer at various locations. Seats are limited and must be scheduled in advance.
