GUIDELINES OF USING ILLIANABULLETINBOARD.COM

  1. WGFA’s IllianaBulletinBoard.com is for community related events that are related to Illiana and those who live here. Events posted on the calendar must be open to the public. Regularly occurring activities sponsored by businesses should not go here.  Those seeking business listings or advertising should contact the WGFA Sales Department at (815) 432-4955.  For example, nightly “happy hour” at John Doe’s pub should not go here; community picnic or game of football in the park should be posted here. Ideally your event should be free, however – if there is a cost involved this should be included in the listing. Please be as detailed as possible in your listing.
  2. This section of the WGFA website is for community events and is not meant for general advertising of your day to day business.
  3. The event must relate to a volunteer or community group. Exclusive events that specifically benefit a business are not allowed.
  4. All events must have at least one means of contact for the public to get further information. This can be an e-mail address, a phone number or a website.
  5. Submissions should be sent at least one week prior to the event in order to have them published . The event information will be published online up to one year in advance and announced on-air 2-3 days before the event when possible.
  6. If you have any problems with that method of submission, please e-mail to 941fm@wgfaradio.com or fax (815) 432-4957. Please be sure to include the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, and HOW of your event, and please include as many details as possible.
  7. We reserve the right to edit for content or space as necessary Please use our online form to submit your Public Service Announcements and Community Calendar information.
  8. Having a business location of the event is fine on-line and if possible we will substitute an easily announced location rather than a business on-air.
  9. Some events may qualify for paid advertising of their event with volunteer rates for additional on-air exposure.  Do not rely on the Illiana Bulletin Board for complete coverage of your event.  Team it up with paid advertising to make it a bigger success.

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR THE ONLINE TRADING POST

• The Trading Post rules online must be accepted after logging in and prior to posting or replying to a post or a user via private message. All users must agree to them prior to using the system.
• In addition to the rules above, you are required to read and accept any individual Trading Post/Bulletin Board rules which may be posted at the top of specific categories as important announcements.
• This is a free service for use by individuals and not businesses.  We ask that you are patient with the WGFA Staff (admins), and software providing this service.  Any abuse towards our staff or management, on-air or online in any form, may result in immediate suspension of your account and/or legal action.
• We take the “Be Polite” rule very seriously. We do not tolerate any rudeness. Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive may be banned without warning.
• You may not post any message that is commercial by nature.
You may only post the item once per week. This includes bumping threads (reposting the same item) once every 7 days. Bumping can refer to posting useless information, posting one-liners or any other action to deliberately keep a thread hot or to bring it to the top of its category. Admins will use their discretion, depending on the nature of the post, as to whether to take action or not.
• If you SPAM (this means any misuse of this free service) our members in any manner, your account will be disabled. Businesses may not use the Trading Post to contact individuals or posters.
• Your account is yours alone. You are responsible for any activity created with it. You may not share your account login with anyone. If you choose to ignore this important restriction, your account and any accounts associated with it will be disabled.
• All publicly displayed messages are limited to the English language. This includes posts, titles, signatures, and any attachments or other forms of public display.
• Signature Spam (a post that was made in hopes of showing a signature, as determined by Admin) is forbidden in all categories.
• You may not post commission, referral or affiliate links anywhere on the Trading Post or Bulletin Board.
• Cross-Posting is not allowed here. Cross-posting refers to posting new duplicate threads or posts, or the linking to threads or posts already started by the member with the intention of gaining exposure.
• You may not compensate anyone for any review or recommendation.
• You may not post on behalf of any banned member in any public manner. This includes all categories, private messages, signatures, and e-mail features.
• You may not post words or URLs that are censored by adding spaces, dots, or substituting characters; or by any other means in an attempt to defeat any censors put in place.
• You may not link, in any manner, to sites or images containing pornography, sexually explicit, gross violence, or are determined by admins to be detrimental to the community.
• You may not use discussions to recommend, praise, or belittle other products or services, or any company.
• Any posts that encourage illegal intent will be removed and the account disabled.
• Public posts debating these rules and/or admin enforcement of such, will be removed without comment. We encourage feedback however and invite you to use our contact page at http://www.WGFARadio.com if you have any questions or concerns.
• Some categories have a “minimum (relevant, non-advertising, non-fluff) post count” and/or “minimum length of membership” restriction before a member is allowed to start a new thread. Please read the Category Description and the Announcement within if you get a permissions error while trying to start a thread. If you choose to make meaningless posts to circumvent this restriction, your account will be disabled.
• If your user name is the same as your URL or company name, you may not refer to it in posts. You may not post any message that directs others to any pages at your own commercial domain, including informational pages. A commercial domain is defined as a site that receives any type of income or links to any income producing properties. You may not solicit the membership for feedback or suggestions on your product or services. You may not solicit users for any project or purpose external to the Trading Post or Bulletin Board, public, private, or commercial.
