A Heat Advisory has kicked in and the NWS and health officials advise us all to stay hydrated and check on neighbors to make sure everyone’s OK. Temps are reaching into the 90s. Heat index values are hearing 103.
The heat index is how hot it feels when you combine the temperatures with the humidity.
Conditions like this can lead to heat related illnesses. The very young, the elderly, and those who are without air conditioning are most at risk. If you work outdoors, be sure to drink plenty of water and take breaks from the heat if possible.
Drink plenty of water, wear light weight and light colored clothing, and stay out of the sun for extended periods. Heat stroke is an emergency…call 9-1-1.
