Gilman police officer resigns, joins Ford County

The City of Gilman is looking for a new police officer following the recent regination of Brian Norton.  Norton is joining the Ford County Sheriff's Department.

The Gilman Star reports that the Gilman City Council may pursue a contractural agreement with the Iroquois County Sheriff's Department to fill the void. Another option is sharing law enforcemtn services with a neighboring town. Just three applicants have shown interest in the advertised Gilman vacancy.

Urgent Notice: Iroquois County Courthouse & Administrative Center closed Monday

WATSEKA -- The Iroquois County Courthouse and the neighboring Administrative Center are closed Monday, January 6, 2014.

County Sheriff Derek Hagen made the announcement Sunday morning after conferring with Chief Circuit Judge Gordon Lustfeldt.

Pending weather conditions, the two buildings will resume business Tuesday.

The people called for jury service should call the jury call-in telephone number (815-432-6967) Monday night for further instructions or check this county website (www.co.iroquois.il.us).

People with any court cases should be in contact with their respective attorney for a future court date. Other notices will be sent by mail.
