Murphy's Food King earns Business-of-the-Year from Kentland Chamber

It's the first-ever Business of the Year Award from the Kentland Chamber of Commerce.  And Murphy's Food King, a local grocer Kentland and the community rely on, was named the winner at the Kentland Chamber's annual banquet Wednesday evening.  Colleen Murphy-Clifton said it'as an honor to get the recognition.  She said "it's always about customer service and so many small towns have struggled to keep a local grocery store open...so with the help of our great people here, we strive for customer satisfaction."

Murphy's is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.  Colleen is a third-generation Murphy operating the store.

A Newton County Court Security Officer, Greg Hamilton, received the Citizen of the Year Award.  He's always giving in the community and is active with the Kentland Park Board.
