The Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department is prepping to close its doors June 30th. Ford and Iroquois counties will be opening their new independent health departments July 1st.
Dr. Kevin Brucker, Chairman of the FIPHD Board of health, issues a letter to clients announcing that the two-county health agency will serve people through Wednesday, June 25th. Both the Paxton and Watseka offices will then close a few days to prepare for the openings of the respective two offices on July 1st. Brucker said the staffs are receiving up-to-date trainings to be ready to serve their communities.
The two new health departments have received their certifications from the State of Illinois.
The Ford-Iroquois Board of Health and the new health departments are extending a 'Thank You' for allowing them to serve the public the last 35 years and look forward to the future.
The Ford and Iroquois County Boards voted earlier to dissolve the near 34-year relationship of the dual-county health department in favor of moving to new single-county health departments.
