Four-inches of rain at Beaverville, roads washed out

The Morocco Road, from Newton County, Indiana to Beaverville (in Iroquois County) was closed last night due to flash flooding. Several roads in the northern sections of Iroquois County experienced flash flooding. And then threat of more rain today (Mon), tonight and Tuesday could add to problems areas.

T-storms, lightning, hail and high winds swept across Illinois into Indiana last night. Additional showers and thunderstorms may add to the total rain amounts. Power outages affected Iroquois County communities, including Clifton, Chebanse, Papineau, Beaverville, Martinton and Donovan. Gilman and Watseka also reported power outages.
Flash flooding trapped a car on a road in rural Momence Sunday evening and another had a close call under the Broadway Street viaduct in Bradley.

In the McLean County community of Towanda, officials said hail that was 2.75 inches in diameter fell briefly. That's about the size of a baseball. And 2.5 inch hail was reported in Greenup in Cumberland County, according to The Associated Press.
