The McLean County Coroner's office identified the victim killed in a Saturday afternoon crash near Gridley. And two people remain hospitalized following the crash between a pickup truck and an SUV.

The victim has been identified as 72-year-old John Bruner of Fountain Inn, South Carolina. He and his fiancee were traveling from Iowa to Indiana on Route 24 when they were hit by a westbound SUV which has crossed into the eastbound lane.

State Police report it happened just west of County Road 1800 East. The SUV hit the pickup truck Bruner was driving.

Bruner was pronounced dead at the scene. Bruner's fiancee, 75-year-old Katherine Daniel from Virginia, was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, where she is in stable condition.

The driver of the SUV, 18-year-old Brady McWilliams of El Paso, was air-lifted to Peoria, where he is stable.
