Wind Farm owners award community grants

Nine new grants are going to Ford County-area organizations, courtesy of the wind farm revenues. The Community Grant Program funds come from Apex Clean Energy and Ford Ridge Wind. The funds are set up to support organizations and projects related to community improvement, including development, environment, education, and health and recreation. .

The grant recipients include the Gibson City Rotary Club; the Ed Day Memorial Skate Park Fund; the Gibson City Restoration Committee; Tri-Point school district; the Gibson Area Food Pantry at the Hospital; the Bayles Lake Homeowners Association; the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley school district; Jeremiah 33:6; and the Sibley Business and Historical Association.

A spokesman said “We hope more organizations benefiting the Ford County community will apply for our fall grant. The Ford Ridge Wind team is proud to be a part of this community and do our part to help those making an impact.”
