A 64-year-old woman is dead after she was accidentally shot by a child that was in her care. Marita Hile of Westville was pronounced dead at Carle Hospital in Urbana Sunday.  She was shot in the back while sitting in the driver's seat of her vehicle.  The shooting incident was investigated by Vermilion County Sheriff's Police. The investigation revealed a child sitting in the back seat was handling a handgun found in the rear of the vehicle when it went off. The incident is being investigated by the Sheriff's Department and the Coroner.
