Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms extending in a line from near Piper City to near Gibson City moving northeast at 45 mph.  This was just before 8 am.  Wind gusts were at 45-50 mph. The weather advisory was continued until at least 9:30 am for western Kankakee County.  Radar was showing storm activity from south of Herscher.  Locations impacted included Kankakee, Joliet, New Lenox, Bourbonnais, Frankfort, Bradley, Manteno, University Park, Peotone, Manhattan, Monee and also Clifton, Chebanse, Ashkum, Essex, Danorth and Bonfield. A stretch along I-57 was reporting heavy rains and high winds.
