Watseka Girls Track & Field Team earns Academic Award

The Watseka Girls Track & Field Team has earned its 8th consecutive Illinois High School Association Team Academic Award for the 2019-2010 season.  It's also the 11th such award in the last 12 years.

Coach Troy Simpson says "each year we set team goals both on the track and off.  Earning this IHSA Academic Award is always on tzhe list.  We take this award seriously, It's very important to the girls to take their classroom work seriously.Even though we weren't able to achive some of the goals on the track due to COVID-19, I'm very proud the girls are recognized for their achivements in the classroom."

Teams are required to earn a minimum 3.00 unweighted GPA to earn the award.  This year's squad earned an impressive 3.46 team GPA.
