A U.S. Route 24 resurfacing project begins Monday. Motorists should be aware of flagmen directing traffic along the route from the Illinois State Line to U.S. 41 in Newton County, IN.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures for U.S. 24 between the Illinois State Line and U.S. 41 at Kentland (IN) beginning August 17. Consruction crews will be resurfacing the road for about 10 hours a day during daylight hours only. U.S. 24 will be reduced to one lane in areas where flaggers will direct traffic.The project is expected to be completed in late October. Drivers are advised to be alert and slow down in the work
