State Police search for White Mustang in connection with fatal bicycle crash

Illinois State Police are now looking for a white Ford Mustang believe to have been involved in a fatal bicycle accident near Mahomet October 11. The accident occurred around 4 p.m. on that Sunday. Police believe the driver of the Mustang was westbound along Route 150 about a mile west of Mahomet and struck two cyclists alongside the roadway. One of the cyclists was killed.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop and left the scene. Troopers are searching for a white Ford Mustang with black side view mirrors. They say the vehicle would have sustained damage to the front right bumper, front right quarter panel and the passenger side mirror was broken off.

Killed in the accident was Dr. William Schuh, a longtime employee of Carle Foundation Hospital. He was was serving as the chief medical information officer. Another cyclist was injured and treated for non life-threatening injury.
